Second Initiation

Second Initiation The Second Initiation comes after two years of formal study of the ECK Spiritual Living Courses. It is the only initiation which can be requested.

A Key Initiation

This key initiation is the linking up of Soul, by the Mahanta, to the returning wave of the Sound Current, which frees Soul from the need to ever again reincarnate on the Physical Plane.

The Second Initiation is the point where the Inner Master begins to give the secret doctrine in earnest. The chela's karma is taken over by the Mahanta, the Living ECK Master and given back to him to work off in an orderly manner, sometimes through the dream state.

The Second Initiate receives a secret word which greatly assists his spiritual unfoldment. This word is a tuning fork - a master key to one's spiritual progress. The initiate begins to rise beyond his mechanical reactions and enjoys more spaciousness and freedom in his approach to life.

The Outer Ceremony

The Second Initiation is both an inner and an outer ceremony.

The Master sends the candidate an invitation - an initiation slip for him to present to an ECK Initiator. The ceremony takes place in a private, quiet location and lasts about an hour.

This is a sacred spiritual event of simplicity, grace, and beauty.

During the ceremony the Initiator gives the chela a personal secret word. It fits his vibrations and opens his Spiritual Eye.

There is also a short spiritual exercise.

The Inner Ceremony

On the inner planes the Mahanta comes to the chela in a sparkling body of light, connects him with the Light and Sound of God, and firmly plants his feet on the road home to God.

The Mahanta and chela may sit down together on the banks of the River of God and discuss the magnificent ECK.

Although the chela may or may not be aware of all that goes on during the initiation, he certainly enters a greater state of the Light and Sound of God.

In time, the chela will remember all that is necessary for his continued unfoldment.

A Dedication to the Holy Spirit

The chela is dedicating his spiritual life to the Holy Spirit, the divine ECK, under the guidance of the Mahanta, the Living ECK Master.

In return, the Mahanta helps him see the spiritual opportunities hidden in very event and circumstances of his life.

Through dreams, insights, and spiritual revelations, the Mahanta awakens the initiate to a new and higher purpose in his spiritual life - the secret of true living.

The Second Initiation corresponds to the Astral Plane.

This is the essential start on the path to Self-Realization, which comes at the Fifth Initiation.
