Eckankar (EHK-ahn-kahr) The word Eckankar means Coworker with God - what all who follow this spiritual path aim to become.

Eckankar's purpose has always been to take Soul by Its own path back home to God via Self-Realization and God-Realization.

Known as the Path of Spiritual Freedom, Eckankar is the outer vehicle for the teachings of the Mahanta, the Living ECK Master. It gives knowledge of both the Light and Sound of God.

Eckankar redefines the experience of religion. It is a university for Soul's spiritual unfoldment.

The Living ECK Master provides a formal study program with the advanced Spiritual Living Courses that qualify a chela for ECK initiations. These lead to total awareness and spiritual freedom for Soul.

Six Spiritual Milestones in Eckankar

  1. recognition and acceptance of the path
  2. the Second Initiation, which ends the need for any more physical incarnations
  3. the Fifth Initiation, which sets Soul free from incarnations in all lower worlds
  4. the Eighth Initiation, the last outer initiation at the present time
  5. the Ninth Initiation, where one is accepted as an aspirant in the Vairagi Order
  6. God Consciousness, one's admission into a realization of Sugmad

Eckankar Organization

Eckankar's organization is hierarchical and headed by the Mahanta, the Living ECK Master, who oversees the Eckankar Spiritual Center (ESC)

The ESC, in turn, oversees the Regional ECK Spiritual Aides (RESAs) around the world, who have been appointed by the Living ECK Master. The RESAs oversee the ECK Satsang Societies within their regions. Regional service teams are staffed by volunteers.

Many ECK Satsang Societies maintain ECK Centers, and some have ECK Temples.
