Five passions of the mind

From ECKopedia

five passions of the mind The five passions of the mind place the ego between Soul and heaven. They include all the dark moods of the mind and all other destructive mental states. They take possession when the mind is allowed to run wild.

To live in harmony with one's self, one must be disciplined - able to allow the spiritual impulses of the ECK to influence and guide the mind.

The five passions are lust (kama), anger (krodha), greed (lobha), vanity (ahankara), and attachment (moha). When any of these passions gets out of control, it limits one's spiritual unfoldment and binds Soul to the lower worlds.
