Vanity

From ECKopedia

vanity Also called ahankara, vanity is one of the five passions of the mind.

Vanity is self-admiration, the abnormal exaggeration of interest in the little self or the intelligence of the mind. This manifests as self-righteousness, a lack of humor, bigotry, self-assertion, or an obtrusive show of wealth or power. Likewise, it is marked by bossiness, scolding, faultfinding, liking publicity, making a show of religion, and being noisy about giving to charity.

The antidote for vanity is humility, one of the five virtues.
