consciousness There are various degrees and states of consciousness far above and beyond the mind. To raise one's state of consciousness is the ECK chela's purpose under the guidance of the Mahanta.

We gradually learn to expand the consciousness so that we can hear the sweet whisperings of Divine Spirit as It is giving us answers in our everyday life. The further into the inner worlds that Soul travels, the higher the development of this consciousness.

Through spiritual unfoldment and the ECK Initiations, the chela goes beyond the human and psychic levels of awareness to Self-Realization, Spiritual Realization, and God-Realization.
