charity The goodwill we give to all Souls. Man does not have the capacity to give warm, personal love to all, so it is given to dear ones - friends and family. But charity - detached love - can be given freely to everyone.

Detachment does not mean lack of compassion, but it resists interfering in somebody else's affairs.

A third kind of love, besides warm love and charity, is spiritual love; it is of the highest nature - the love of the individual for the Mahanta, the Living ECK Master, who is the manifestation of God's love.
