Ahankar (ah-HAHN-kahr) One of the four faculties of mind. The faculty of separating self and self-interest from all else; the I-ness, the faculty which executes orders. Exaggerated, it becomes vanity, or ahankara.

The other faculties are Buddhi, Chitta, and Manas.
